Generic Adoxa medication has a number of common, though relatively minor and transient, side effects including diarrhea, headache, nausea and stomach upset. More serious side effects happen less commonly and can include blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin), flu symptoms (fever, chills, body aches), and mental disturbances such as confusion and disorientation. These more serious side effects may represent an allergic reaction or drug interaction problem and should therefore be reported to a local physician immediately. A usual characteristic of all tetracycline-based drugs is increased susceptibility to sunburn, so it is advised that people taking this antibiotic avoid prolonged, unprotected exposure to direct sunlight.
