
Generic Viagra and other ED Drugs in the European Markets
Big ED drugs manufacturer said today that it is pulling its application to sell generic Viagra without a prescription in European markets. The well known firm cited some concerns expressed by European regulators about the proposal, but did not go into detail. The statement they stated suggested the company may put together additional data in an effort to satisfy the folks at the Committee for Medicinal Products of EMEA for Human Use.
Prescription generic Viagra has been approved in Europe since 1999, and is available in 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg doses, Dow Jones Newswires reports. The company and manufacturer applied last year to sell the 50 mg version without a prescription in Europe. EMEA, the European drug and control agency, said withdrawal letter, as well as a document explaining the scientific assessment of the agency, will be posted online in due course.
