Although not common, some patients have reported side effects when using this medication. Some general adverse reactions that may be experienced are a swollen tongue, difficulty swallowing, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, genital sores or swelling, itching, vaginal discharge, or white patches appearing in the mouth. Some more serious side effects include the following symptoms and need to be reported to your personal physician as soon as possible: severe headaches, vision impairment, blistering or peeling skin rashes, a change in urination frequency, jaundice, a loss of appetite, weakness, abnormal bleeding or bruising, darkened urine, increased heart rate, chills and fevers, confusion, or a severe pain that begins in the upper stomach and moves to the back.
