Penile Fractures
Even when the penis is known to be boneless, penile fractures are very much a reality. Horror stories about what can happen to your friend down under abound, but this one is for real. In penile fractures there is no generic Viagra that can help – at least not at the moment of the rupture. Penile ruptures are painful, fracture-like injuries any man sporting wood can suffer, if proper care is not implemented.
While the penis cannot break per se, it certainly can tear apart from the pubic area due to extreme strain. Be aware that penile fracture cannot happen to non erected penises. Men sporting erections are the only ones at risk. Penile tears known as penile fractures are distinguished by the cracking sound the organ makes as it tears away from the rest of the body, accompanied by extreme pain, blood accumulation and consequent bruising. By no means does a man want to find himself in such a situation. If getting your nut sack punched hurts, picture having your soldier MIA.
And missing in action is usually the way this serious health condition takes place. Since penile fractures require the penis to be erect, most of these injuries take place during intercourse. But fear not, sex is not harmful to your health; the position and strength are. Most penile fractures are registered to happen while energetic thrusting takes place with the woman on top. Because of extreme forces and harsh movement, the pelvic bone acts as a stopper, causing the penis to become detached from the pelvic area.Other cases recorded include sexual positions in which the man thrusts against a hard object, like a desk; strong action against a hard object causes the tear.
In the case of such an unfortunate event, immediate medical attention is the way to go. Otherwise, permanent damage to both erectile function and even urethral damage can become permanent. If man enough to endure the examination process, your doctor will feel the injury as to determine where the fracture occurred and how to go about the operation. Surgery is the only true treatment for penile fracture. Otherwise restoring erectile function and overall natural-looking shape and aesthetics of the penis are practically impossible to recover.
There really is no need for such a warning, but just in case: sex is off the table for a while after a penile fracture. Having had the operation, you are likely to be sedated in order to avoid night time erections or spontaneous wood that may cause the wound to tear again. To be on the safe side, your doctor is likely to instruct you wait at least 6 to 8 weeks of rest before you can actually think about getting back on the saddle.
