Viagra has become an important part of the nowadays’ pop culture. The name of the drug is not only featured in Hollywood movies but also in most comedy series. If some time ago, Viagra was not associated very much with movies, this is about to change. One of the most recent Hollywood movies, “Love And Other Drugs” is featuring Viagra in a funny and yet aggressive way. Some may consider it publicity but we are not sure if the movie will gain popularity because of the drug or the other way around. We are tempted to believe that the first option is more likely rather than the latter.

The point is that Viagra does play an important role in the today’s pop culture. Moreover, the drug has become a cool item to be part of Hollywood movies mainly because of the way in which it is portrayed. So, what could be more profitable for a movie than to feature sex related topics presented in a funny way. In this movie, Love and other drugs, Viagra is in fact the “job” of one of the main characters, Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal). Jamie is of course a ladies’ man who meets a girl who would do anything to stay out of a dating relationship, Maggie (Anne Hathaway). Generic Viagra gets included in the picture (a quite big picture actually) as a result of Jamie’s job which is being a salesman for Pfizer, the manufacturer of Viagra. Thus, he sells Viagra to men who need a bit of help in their love lives. The movie is a romantic comedy spiced up with Viagra’s appearance.

The movie is still about to be released in the US this autumn but from our point of view it is expected to sky rocket in the American cinemas. This will only lead to more appearances of Viagra in Hollywood movies because sex sells and although Viagra is not itself a sexual item, it brings our thoughts to sex. We foresee a successful premiere of Love and other drugs especially because of the likeable love story spiced up with the Viagra’s appearance and with the participation of two lovely actors, Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.

To conclude, there is no wonder that Hollywood will take advantage of Viagra’s reputation and popularity because from our point of view, a funny appearance of this wonder pill on TV can only bring benefits to the movie featuring it.
