b_diabetesThe fact that a very significant percentage of men with diabetes will experience some degree of erectile dysfunction during their lifetime needs not scare this male population. Yes, diabetic males tend to experience erectile dysfunction significantly earlier than other men. Yet, treatment is available for them as much as for the next guy. Like other men, erectile dysfunction tends to hit harder and more often as years go by.  The older you are the higher the likelihood of you experiencing erectile dysfunction; diabetes makes that likelihood come sooner than for other fellows, that’s all.

Diabetes, very broadly speaking, causes erectile dysfunction on diabetic men due to impairments in nerve, blood vessel and muscular functions. For a man to get an erection, his blood vessels, nerves, hormones and sexual desire must be in tip-top condition. These sort of play team work for the whole experience to happen. And because diabetes can damage the exact vessels and nerves that control erection,  there will not be enough sexual drive to make that erection work at its firmest.

Diabetic men can in fact take medication to achieve and or maintain a stiff and hard erection, like Viagra online or Cialis. However, it is important that men with diabetes also consider that diabetes usually causes a lot of heart problems and ED treatments might not be the most recommended treatment for people with heart disease. Other treatment options men can consider are injection therapy, vacuum constriction devices or penis pumps. Penile implants are also a popular option, specially among older men. Even when they are far more invasive, penile implants are very reliable and give men of a certain age a sense of security in the sexual performance area.

There is no one best treatment for the diabetic man. Truth is it depends on the overall health of each person and their tolerance towards treatment. You can always go to a urologist to determine what treatment is right for you. Your GP can also work with you and your urologist in order to decide what treatment suits your combination of conditions best. Making a hasty decision could worsen your symptoms and your overall health. Do not play with unauthorized  and experimental remedies for these could harm your health, concerning erectile dysfunction and other conditions you might have or develop.
