Bossy Women: Having A Female Boss
We are now facing a new era of leadership. We have all been used to seeing men in powerful positions and it is practically expected that a man gets a high position in the hierarchy structure of a company. But times change and we can now witness how women began replacing men in these positions. But why this change-over now? It might be because women have empowered themselves and have started to come out as the ambitious creatures they are. Even when stereotypes about the female boss have not been erased just yet, women tend to be more confident about becoming a leader. Read more about the impact this new trend has on women and men and what the future awaits.
Working for a woman can bring both advantages and disadvantages, when we are talking about men. Generally, men are used to have a male boss and therefore this change can affect them seriously. No more hanging out with the male boss, making stupid jokes about women or talking dirty (in case they developed such a relationship with their former male bosses). The bottom line is that life at work is completely changed for men when they must report to a woman. It can generate an instant need for generic Viagra, especially if she is good looking. The truth is that deep inside men feel threatened by bossy women mainly because they tend to complete the same jobs as good as a male leader would but in different ways, sometimes better ways. Women will always posses more communicative skills, a higher emotional quotient and they are just better in relationships with other people. These qualities just make women a better investment for the company and yet the statistics show that men are still most likely to be bosses in a company in the detriment of women.
So, is female leadership restrained by the male ego? Men could certainly learn a thing or two from women, especially when it comes to handling a client. Powerful women have something special about them. Women have a way about them that brings leadership to a whole new level. Tons of feminists out there are nodding in approval; I can feel it.However, women taking the lead in multi-million dollar companies is not all pink flowers. As men fear having to report to a woman, this action could prove disastrous for the company regardless of the other benefits female bosses can bring.
While some might feel threatened or uncomfortable about this newly acquired role of female employees, others will benefit from a more equality oriented work environment. As equal opportunities grow, both men and women are challenged to climb up the corporate ladder towards success.
