Generic Viagra is a well known treatment for erectile dysfunction in men. Its popularity is mainly due to its proven efficacy in treating the physical manifestations of this devastating affliction. Unfortunately erectile dysfunction also affects psychological aspects of the men suffering from it. Luckily, recent studies have shown that generic Viagra might be the perfect solution for these subjects as well.
Psychogenic erectile dysfunction is the name given to the mental manifestations that roadblock all the chances of having an erection. It can be defined as a bunch of psychological and emotional factors that stop a man from having an erection and have a fully functional sexual life. Some of the most common causes of Psychogenic erectile dysfunction are also daily aspects of almost everyone’s life such as stress, low self-esteem, poor nutrition and lack of physical exercise.
This particular type of ED is very difficult to diagnose, so normally it is advised to start taking generic Viagra in order to see if the problem is physical rather than emotional. If this is the case, then generic Viagra should do the work. What it basically does is to allow the right amount of blood to fill all the spongy tissue in your penis, causing a long-lasting, hard enough erection.
It is important to take under consideration that generic Viagra will always cause an erection, since it activates specific receptors on your body. What you should keep in mind is that generic Viagra is not an aphrodisiac per se. What this means is that it will, in fact, produce an erection but it won’t increase your libido or sexual desire. If this is your case, then you probably suffer from Psychogenic ED.
But don’t fret, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Recent studies have shown that a treatment based on generic Viagra and psychotherapy is more than effective in this kind of cases. Since the debut of generic Viagra, it has been the perfect complement for several therapies established back in the 70′s in order to treat Psychogenic ED. There are two main approaches: psychodynamic therapy and counseling. Basically psychodynamic therapy takes for granted that there is an underlying sexual conflict that causes ED, therefore, if this conflict is solved your ED problems should go away as well. Counseling and generic Viagra are commonly used as well. It follows a rather similar path, the main difference is that it doesn’t encourage such a deep exploration, and instead of that, it focus on communication, self-esteem and couple therapy.
If you are more into alternative therapies, try to complement generic Viagra with sensate focus. This is just the fancy name for an approach that gives you the opportunity to focus on sensations and feelings rather than your sexual performance. This takes the pressure away and aims to separate your sexuality from everything else. Remember, what really matters (besides good quality generic Viagra) is to get rid of anxiety and stress a priori, enjoy yourself, focus on all the glorious sensations and feelings that sex has to offer, and you will notice the difference right away, trust me.
