They all say it is hard to be a woman, but who thinks about how hard being a man is? Women complain about all these things they have to do to look their best and sometimes envy men for having to do so much less. But they never seem to ask themselves if men really look that good without doing too much. When discussing male grooming, we are tempted to believe they wake up, have a cup of coffee in the morning, brush their teeth gel up their hair and out the door they go! However, for some men this is quite far from the way their daily activities begin. An issue that is common in both men and women is more of a male grooming problem than most ladies think: hair. Is too much hair manly or just disturbing? To man-scape or not to man-scape?

We are genuinely used to the amount of hair men posses. Although fuzz varies in thickness and location, we expect hair on a man’s body. Whether he chooses to keep it natural or shave it is his problem. But we never think about the issues men have with hair. Now, facial hair denotes manliness. What man does not want it? Unlike little boys, men with facial hair are perceived as manly. Facial hair brings something new to a man’s look and may define his personality to some extent. There are men who grow beards because it favors their appearance and personality; some men prefer shaving their facial hair as soon as it grows. And yet, facial hair can be quite a complicated issue for some. For those who are in favor of getting rid of facial hair, shaving every two days pretty much solves their problem. But for the rest, shaving or trimming requires a bit more work. Yet, facial hair is not much of an issue among men. But what about chest and back hair?

Chest hair is another sign of virility. Men who proudly own it would not even consider shaving it, only maybe trimming it. And then again, some men find hairless chests more attractive and shave their chest hair. Now, the hair on the back is one of the worst concerns in men’s world. When growing on any other part of the man’s body, hair is accepted and considered normal but the hair on the back is often seen as unattractive, and therefore most men shave or wax it.

Contrary to common belief, body hair is an issue for men as well. Dealing with sensitive skin, money and time consuming procedures and self-consciousness regarding their bodies are also part of a man’s life. With more and more eyes on the way we look, is it really surprising how much attention we put on generic Viagra consumers, body hair grooming, body fitness and overall man power?are
