People who are doing sports at a more or less professional level are always good role models. Many of these individuals, even without outstanding results in the particular sport they are practicing, are still to be followed as models because of the example they set on how to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Not only men, but also women who practice different sports are worth taking as role models. However, in the history of sports, many sportsmen are on the opposite side of role models. Follow outstanding sportsmen and draw your own lines of wisdom from those who’s experience has taught us where to draw the line.

It is amazing that sportsmen who are doing well in their category and who are known for being great at what they do without cheating are role models for both individuals who practice a sport at higher levels, for amateurs but also for people who only enjoy watching sports but don’t really practice any. People who practice different sports are well educated, in the real and rough sense of the word. The discipline that is imposed in the case of professional sportsmen is indubitably what makes a person better than others. People who live by respecting the rules may be considered boring in real life, but in both the real and the sports world these are the true professionals one should imitate. Excelling at what you do without ever attempting to cheat is something that not many individuals can achieve. Especially these days, sportsmen push the limits as far as they can attempting not to be caught. The question is what makes a sportsman a good role model? Is it one who cheats but doesn’t get caught or one who is not the best but still keeps his achievements truthful?

In sports, crossing the line is easy. The stakes are so high and individuals find themselves doing whatever they can to win a competition. Sports history is full of great sportsmen who’s names are associated with fall. For instance, former role models such as Tiger Woods and John McEnroe hit rock bottom after their integrity as human beings was crushed in front of the entire world. Talk about generic Viagra malfunction. But luckily, the sports world is still associated with names that will remain in the history for a very long time as good role models. Sportsmen who make good role models include individuals you sure have heard of in tennis news like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and in other sports, like Lance Armstrong and many more. As for rumors, gossip and doubt seem inevitable in a scene packed with competition. Those wishing to trash such great sportsmen accusing them of cheating though causes no damage until proven guilty. These great men are and always will be considered emblems of good sportsmanship.
