Viagra is perhaps the most popular drug in the world and its effects on men suffering from ED is well documented. Men are not however the only ones who may suffer from a sexual dysfunction and specialists start to wonder whether a similar medicine could be developed for women. But until medication similar to Viagra is being developed for women, scientists decided to see what the exact effects of Viagra on women are. The results were stunning and you must know them. Read more about what effect may Viagra have on women and whether they are beneficial or not.

As we all know, Viagra has been developed as a medicine intended to be used by men. Viagra is strongly associated with as a result of the very good effects that it has on treating ED in male sufferers. Because of its “manly” image, it is pretty hard for most of us to think that Viagra could actually work on women. But the specialists tested it and believe it or not, Viagra seems to be as efficient in women as they are in men, only for some other problems.

Recently, a study has been carried out by the specialists from Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company manufacturing Viagra. This study involved around 200 women who had to suffer from a condition that would interfere with their normal sexual activity. Most of the women have gone through a hysterectomy or were post-menopausal. The average age of the women participating at the study was 51 although there were women as young as 30 years old or as old as 70 years old.

This research study was meant to reveal the effect of Viagra on women suffering from female sexual arousal disorder, a medical condition that interferes with the woman’s ability to achieve sexual arousal and at the same time the study was supposed to show whether generic Viagra has any effect on women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder. In the first case, researchers have studied whether Viagra affects the sensations a woman has in the genital area during intercourse and whether the foreplay or intercourse was more pleasant after being administered Viagra. The results were outstanding given that the research group discovered that most women with female sexual arousal disorder experienced a certain degree of relief from their symptoms. In most of these women, Viagra had a great positive effect which can revolutionize the entire Viagra concept.

On the other hand, Viagra’s effect on women with hypoactive sexual disorder was shown to be very little mainly because this condition usually has emotional and psychological roots. Also, the side effects women may experience from Viagra are similar to those seen in men. Viagra does work in women as well; it simply targets different problems than it does on men.
