Male Grooming Tips

Mowing the lawn in your pants, smelling good, pumping those arms or even wearing a pair of fresh underwear; these are all part of a man’s grooming routine and upkeep. Even when some might still like the 60′s look down there and wouldn’t mind a little funk coming from your trousers, truth is no one likes a smelly crotch that lacks grooming.
Overall body odor, clean nails, nose and ear hair, clean teeth and tongue, fresh breath and unclogged pores; pulling all of these off can be a little overwhelming when presented like this. Let’s take a look at the basics of male grooming first:
- Taking a shower. Although this might sound stupidly obvious to some, taking a shower is essentially the corner stone of male grooming. Some consider showering optional, and that is okay (if you want to keep your possibilities of having sex with another being null). Showering takes a few minutes and if done properly it can take care of most of your grooming process.
- Shaving. For some men, their job requires their manly beards be tamed at all times. Others have a little more freedom and can go about their fuzz as they please. Either way, keep beards clean. Nothing says “disgusting” like a smelly non-kept beard with rotting food inside. Men do have options: there are trimmers, barbers, home shaving kits, facial hair grooming products, and whatnot. So there really is no excuse there.
- Nail Clipping. Hands and feet are many times neglected areas of male grooming. A gnome-like toe nail packed with dirt and accompanied by dry and scaly skin is repulsive and shows a total lack of interest in how you look on your part. Same goes for hands and finger nails. You can keep it a secret, but keeping your nails short gives less room for dirt to build up and make your feet smellier. Foot sweat and nail goo are a bad combo. The market is packed with powders, creams and tools to give your feet a manly but clean look. Women do not want rough hands touching them or sandy feet rubbing against them in bed. It’s just gross.
- Skin care. Men are known to have rough hands with calluses from weight lifting or heavy work. Fair enough. However, there are other rough skin spots that shouldn’t be there. Areas that are constantly exposed to air and dirt like feet, elbows and knees tend to get a lot of impact be it from sports or nature. Try rubbing a little odor-free oil or cream on you elbows for example to get rid of those greyish dry spots. A loofah or pumice stone can help reduce the harshness of the skin.
- Hair trimming. Well kept hair can also help your overall look to improve. Whether you shave and parade a shaved head or you wear untamed locks, you sculpt a Mohawk or you wax the tips of our well styled hair, you have to take care of that head too. Long hair is obviously more work, but regular brushing and a good shampoo should do the trick. As long as you was your hair regularly and keep it clean, you are okay.
- Nose and Ear Hair. Men are hairy. That is a fact. And their ears and noses sometimes are neglected in matters of trimming and grooming. If you have hair growing out of your orifices, cut it. Be careful to use a sharp and precise hair scissor or a special trimmer. These are not only hairy areas but they also tend to bleed a lot, so watch out for cuts.
- Public hair. In this day and age, men have come to embrace and appreciate the perks of professional male grooming. By professional we mean waxing. Waxing or shaving your pubes, even though potentially painful and time consuming, does have significant pros. No hair means also no moisture and consequently less bad odor; sexually speaking it can be more inviting and your sensitivity is likely to increase; and out top favorite: it makes you look bigger.
Basically, maintaining your manly selves but under cleanliness standards is all you have to do. Hygiene is not just about getting more action, it is also important to keep you healthy, working and doing all the things you like to do. Plus, a little hair trim here and there can make my generic Viagra action look bigger for the ladies!
