Why Christmas Rules

Getting in the spirit of all things Christmas, a little over a month before the holiday frenzy truly blows up into glittery snowflake confetti and Santa’s helpers, I thought it was time to make a small review of why Christmas rules. I know some of you might be frowning upon my jolly statement and those of you out there who are not big X-Mas fans, I understand your frowning selves. However, my approach on Christmas this time is not about the commercialized consumerism holiday or the over glazed sugary sweet idealized season. This is just about making the best out of the Christmas spirit, whether you like it or not.

From a male perspective, Christmas makes your wife happier. Even with all that running around to get dinner ready and buying children’s presents, she is likely going to be in a better mood, a jolly mood. With all that Christmas sparkle comes closeness, and with closeness comes sex. Never saw that coming huh? Several people observe that stress produced during the holiday season many times makes people fail to have quality time together as a couple. This year you are not going to let that happen. You are going to find a way to make more time for  you two to be together. Jesse’s Christmas BBQ might have to wait for next year. Those generic Viagra pills are getting dusty inside your nightstand.

Christmas is packed with nice food and tons of refreshing drinks. I don’t know about you, but it seems like Christmas is the perfect excuse for indulging in incredible amounts of food and beverages of all sorts. Sharing nicely cooked and presented meals makes people come together in a happy environment (most of the times) and gives room to bonding and laughing. Taking the holidays too serious will ruin things. Eat a turkey leg and have a glass of wine. The rest you can worry about after the decorations come down.

The end of the year also brings new opportunities. Completion of a year and the start of a new one gives people a chance to start over, cleaning the slate can be very comforting and uplifting. New opportunities are nerve raking in a good way; you don’t know what is coming up but you do know you have choices to try. After a rough year, making a fresh start can be very uplifting.

The season is also an ocassion for family and friends to come together. Most people have busy schedules and it is during the holidays that you get a chance to catch up and see the people you care about. Reconnecting with long lost friends or family members you love and care about is more likely during this time; enjoy the moments you have with them to be able to cherish these throughout the year or until you meet again.
