Modern medicine may not have advanced to the point that a person can live forever, but breakthroughs in health science have shown several ways that the natural life span can be extended for many years. In many cases, the activity needed to achieve a longer life takes little more than a few minutes to make it a part of a person’s regular routine. Those people that would like to extend their life by a few years or decades may find the following tips helpful.

In the morning, a person can change their normal coffee routine to tea as a healthier choice. The antioxidants in green and white versions of tea have been proven to lower the likelihood of cancer. In addition, the lower levels of caffeine are much gentler to the body than coffee and can still deliver plenty of go juice for a busy day. This simple change can help to reduce stress, one of the leading causes of an early death.

Nearly everyone knows that vegetables are an integral part of a healthy diet, but few people realize that their cooking methods are actually draining the vegetables of a large part of the vitamins and minerals. After eating them raw, steaming vegetables provides the largest amount of vitamin and mineral absorption. Cooking times are usually similar and a change to steaming vegetables over a long time frame may add up to a couple more years of life.

While making dietary changes will help achieve a longer life, a person also needs to have regular doctor examinations to see the effects of the changes they are making. In particular, being tested for thyroid abnormalities can help a person spot a thyroid problem earlier and get the right treatment. Finding health problems early is the best way to prevent them from growing into a serious problem and threatening a person’s life.
