As a general rule, men like women because they are pretty. Carrying for others, being sensitive and many other qualities make up the remaining list of traits a perfect woman carries. However, funny does not seem to be on most lists of men looking for a woman. The basic rule in a relationship is that while the woman must be sensitive and pretty, and have a body to match, men are funny – and generic Viagra to stand to the task. Hot, built, smart or wealthy, a man will always have his funny bone to stand out. Women with a sense of humor sometimes make men feel threatened but they also make some of the best girlfriends.

As mentioned before, men are genetically engineered to be attracted to women that are good looking and have a certain something that makes them special. It can be her smile, her personality, the way she thinks or even her sense of humor. Yet, it has been observed that while some men enjoy the company of funny women, others feel rather inferior and threatened by such a behavior. So can women be naturally funny? Why do men consider them a threat?

Underneath the appearances of a healthy relationship, a long term commitment must be based on a certain balance between partners. So, if she is the one who has the looks, the brains and the humor, what is there left for him? A woman with a sense of humor can often make funny men around them feel as if something had been taken from them. But having a funny woman for a girlfriend can bring her man plenty of joy.

Generally speaking, people who have a good sense of humor are more sociable. Therefore, men who date funny women are more likely to have a larger social circle and active lifestyle. Moreover, her being funny doesn’t mean there is no place for other good jokes. Some men can easily manage having a girlfriend with a great sense of humor by making up a funny couple. A funny woman is also beneficial for the relationship. There is a consensus that people who laugh at jokes and make up good jokes are more optimistic and open-minded.

Perhaps a change in the mentality of men towards funny ladies needs to take a different spin. Though no change can be easily done overnight, relationships sure can benefit from such a situation. There is no actual reason why men should feel threatened by this trait in women. Think of it this way: too serious a girlfriend is boring and brings no fun to the relationship. No matter how hilarious you think you are, what is the point of joking if your woman can’t find you amusing? All in all, women can have a good sense of humor, but a good sense of humor continues to be the secret weapon of every great man.
