Erectile dysfunction can stem from any number of things including stress, neurological problems in the genital area and simply older age.  When a person has diabetes this can also have a significant effect on maintaining an erection. In this case medications may be able to help. In fact men who have diabetes have a much greater chance of developing erectile dysfunction than men who do not have diabetes because of the difference in blood flow that occurs within the bodies of these men.  This includes the blood flow to the penis.  Poor blood flow to the penis can not only lead to a man not being able to sustain an erection but to a man not being able to even have one in the first place. In regards to this, diabetes can amplify the effect of erectile dysfunction many times over and makes it considerably more difficult to perform sexually without Help.  In addition to this, those who have diabetes and do not take measures to control their symptoms can cause damage to nerves within the body including those within the penis.  Other damage diabetes can cause includes damage to the organs through the increased risk of heart and artery diseases.

Many people that have diabetes can also have blood and artery diseases that can restrict blood flow to the body and in turn, the penis. Some pills works to help remedy this restricted blood flow as it can cause men suffering from diabetes to also suffer from erectile dysfunction as well.  Abusing drugs or alcohol can also amplify this effect in men of all ages.  Taking care of your body is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and also a healthy sex life.  Destructive habits like smoking can increase the chances of developing erectile dysfunction not to mention other health problems such as cancer.  As men with diabetes must be careful to control their blood sugar as well as consider lifestyle changes life can be that much harder for them, especially when erectile dysfunction is involved. Viagra can be a safe addition to make life easier for those with diabetes suffering from ED.
