Taking good care of your feet is both a matter of proper male grooming as it is a health issues. Learning about the best and most efficient ways to pamper your feet properly to make them presentable to the world is key. A man with well kept feet is a man who takes care of things, who cares about his appearance and likes keeping good hygiene. Just the man a girl wants by her side during this summer.

Feet are in very nasty situations actually. Inside shoes, no matter how clean we are, feet are inside a moist and enclosed environment that is highly bacteria-friendly. Our walking pals have tons of sweat glands; depending on the kind of socks and shoes we are used to wearing, that sweat production is bound to increase. Synthetic materials produce more heat and are less breathable than cotton (for socks) and leather (for shoes). The bacteria growing and feeding from this moist environment can make themselves even more comfortable if you’ve got open sores or any other type of foot injury.

Feet are sometimes on bare floor too, on the beach or at home, while our dog licks that toe of yours. My point is there is bacteria everywhere and feet, due to their location and function, tend to be at a greater risk of infection and other ailments than other body parts. Therefore the immense array of foot creams, cleansers, powders, soles, nail clippers, nail files and so on.

So what is a man to do in a world of nail care primarily designed for women and rainbow nail polish catalogs? Breath in and breath out! Now a days many salons and grooming places also specialize in male nail grooming (hands and feet). But if home care is what you are concerned about here are a few pointers for you to take into account when chopping off those claws.

Getting Into Gear

Make sure you have purchased a high quality large and small nail clippers. These will be your primary tools to get rid of those toe and hand nails. Quality is important because you want a sharp and exact blade that gives you a clean cut, much like a razor. Well cut nails eliminates more chances of them becoming ingrown.

Next come foot scrubbers. With wear and tear, specially while wearing sandals a lot, feet are bound to get dry and hard. Get yourself a scrubbing pad to soften those areas. You can use it while showering, once the water has soften the thicker skin on your feet.

Moisture and odor are important to men too, so getting soothing moisturizing cream for your feet and an effective medicated powder are the last step to better looking (and smelling) feet. Moisturizing foot cream will reduce harsh looking skin on your feet and prevent it from breaking into painful sores. The powder works its magic in the odor area. It minimizes odor-causing bacteria during the day and controls moisture.

As discussed before, the higher quality your shoes and socks are, the better breathing room your feet will have and the lower your concern level will be. Consider investing in two pairs of good leather shoes instead of purchasing tons of foot wear made out of man-made materials (aka plastic). Think of it as investing in a hefty amount of generic Viagra if you were suffering from erectile dysfunction. You want a quality product that works, not something that goes half way and causes weird side effects.
